It is absolutely essential for the progress of the State in all directions, economical, agricultural, industrial, and commercial, that the State must have a Railway line of its own as the means of communication. It is also the best means to tap all the resources of the State in all the directions and in every way. The railway helps us towards the improvement of agriculture, and since agriculture is the important source of revenue to the State, the Railway line is much more a necessity for the surplus produce, which the State, already has every year, and which can be advantageously marketted, thereby improving the economical position of the agriculturists as well as of the State. With the Railway line brought into being, the population during the first five years must double itself on either side of the railway line and also throughout the valley in which the railway line passes, The railway line will be availed of, as the best means of communication as well as of traffic by 15,000 people of Dauta State, only living throughout the valley affected by the railway line. It is to be safely presumed that the valley owing to the thinness of the population hitherto, will absorb on a model scale a population of 15,000 more within the five years of the introduction of the railway in operation. The several agricultural schemes now proposed, and seriously translated into action, may attract the large number of settlers to come and settle down on either side of the railway line: thereby acting as great feeders to the railway.


The transformation may precipitately take place during the first year of existence and it can be safely taken as correct figure by economists that five thousand out-side souls will accept the Danta State as the land of adoption during the first year of the Railway. Their fusion in the State will surely increase the revenue through land assessments by yearly increase of Rs. 20,000 and this will be progressive till the end of the fifth year.


Seeing the fertility of the soil, the climate and rainfall of the State and comparing them with other States in parallel conditions, the population per square mile must be raised to 150 within five years of the introduction of the railway. (Compare Bhavnagar Jamnagar, and Dhrangadhra history immediately after the Railway). This will be the re-action on the State resulting in the appreciable increase of the revenue through agriculture. Conversely the railway will be favourably affected by the increase in the passenger traffic not only of the indigenous subjects, but also of the new settlers in a progressive sense
